I managed to ignore the blog again. I'm sorry. Life has felt as though it is going a million miles a minute. I thought I would share what I have been wearing from my capsule wardrobe this winter. I am looking forward to transitioning to a spring capsule wardrobe in April. This wardrobe has been functional, but it could have been much smaller. I have learned a few things about myself in this process that I hope to be able to apply to my next capsule wardrobe.
I am so excited to be back into a capsule wardrobe. I have tried variations of this over the past couple years, but I have been largely unsuccessful due to an ever-changing body that I found difficult to dress. Things have begun to settle out, so I am excited to figure out what works for me in this season of my life. I am still breastfeeding, but my baby is now a toddler and requires far less feedings during the day. This gives me the flexibility to choose clothes that aren't necessarily nursing friendly because I am not planning around breastfeeding anymore.
As a reminder, in this season of life I am a stay-at-home mom of 3 kids. I live on the Canadian prairies where our temperatures get very cold. I am basically dressing for warmth and comfort.
My 2023 winter capsule wardrobe consists of 35 pieces and it includes my active wear and lounge wear. I don't include my outerwear (winter jackets, toques/hats, mitts, boots, etc.) and I do not include my pajamas.
TOPS & DRESSES
I was aiming to have a capsule wardrobe this summer, but I am having trouble maintaining a smaller capsule wardrobe with this pregnancy. I have had to purchase a few items because a lot of what I owned didn't fit anymore or it didn't feel good on me. I will get back to capsule wardrobes after Baby is born, I am sure. Until then, I am going to wear whatever feels comfortable. I wanted to share a few of my summer outfits with you. I found some great items at Mama Bear Maternity and Motherhood Maternity. I am also wearing a few items that I have had in previous pregnancies or that I swiped from my husband's side of the closet.
This capsule wardrobe is the smallest I have ever made for a full season. We are still living in a pandemic, however and we don't go out or socialize. This means that I need less from my wardrobe. I have chosen to create a wardrobe that is simple, comfortable and suits our pandemic life. I am hopeful that with the vaccinations coming, we will be able to resume some of our normal activities by late spring or early summer. Maybe my clothes can be more interesting at that time. Until then, my casual and comfortable capsule wardrobe will work just fine.

I am sharing the last few outfit pictures that I took of my Fall Capsule Wardrobe. I have moved on to my next wardrobe plan and I am working on sorting out the wardrobe before I share it with you next week. I am toying with the idea of a uniform instead of an entire wardrobe. I will still include a few options outside of the 'uniform', but since most days I am at home with my kids, with the exception of grocery runs, a uniform makes sense at this point of life during a pandemic.
I enjoyed my Fall Capsule Wardrobe, but as the weather became colder and COVID-19 cases have risen we have mostly stuck close to home and I stopped utilizing my wardrobe fully.
Wow! It has definitely been a while since I have written on here. This year has felt so strange with the pandemic. We have made some big life adjustments due to the pandemic and, as always, my blog hit the back burner. I am back today with my capsule wardrobe!
This season's capsule wardrobe consists of some new (to me) pieces. I made some purchases through ThredUp. ThredUp has only recently become available in Canada and I was so excited to give it a try. I ordered several pieces. All of my items look brand new and they all fit! I was really happy with my shopping experience. My capsule wardrobe will also include a sweatshirt from my favourite podcast's merch store. It hasn't arrived yet, so it is not pictured.
My wardrobe contains 36 pieces. I no longer count footwear or outerwear in my wardrobes because I change those up according to the weather that we are experiencing.
